The flamboyance in the project
came from the character of the space.
None of the rich details existed.
Faux-painted marble baseboard,
stone thresholds, wall moldings,
a hand painted seventeenth- century
wooden ceiling imported Sicily, and
a sixteenth-century fireplace mantel
where all introduced in the Great Room.
The idea was to enrich the
space with history and give
it an Old World character.
